GUIDE TO SURVIVING THE WHITE ISLE
Known as the best party island in the world, it can be a little daunting if you are heading out for your first time. There is also so much more to this world-renowned clubbers paradise. I've been for both a fitness break, to enjoy the nightlife and a trip incorporating both. Here are my suggestions for making the most of out your time on this balearic beauty.
Before you even start packing, listen to Ushuaia Ibiza Radio, the global reaching station from Ushuaia to get you in the mood. You can also download Defected Radio Podcasts, my go to playlist for a banging playlist for getting ready or training hard.
Beach House. Hands down my favourite place to eat in Ibiza. Delicious salads, fish and more with excellent service and a great location at the end of Bora Bora beach. What really tops it off is the brilliant house music from a DJ booth covered in flowers. The versatility of Beach House makes it even more appealing - You can lounge on the beds on the beach with some pale rose, have an intimate meal for two or a table for 25+ for lunch. Check out their website for special events and sets.
Jockey Club. If you're looking for a relaxed, fun vibe with delicious food accompanied by a banging sound track, Jockey Club is for you. Situated at Salinas Beach, this place nails it for me each time we've been. The cava sangria is legendary (well in my mind at least), the best time to go is for a late lunch whilst you can enjoy a local DJ from 3pm.
Experimental. At one of the southern most peninsulas on the island this is a stylish, well-designed spot to soak up some rays, see the sun go down or sip on a cocktail to start your evening. There’s an outdoor bar set in a boat surrounded by candles and lots of quaint alfresco spots to relax in.
Destinos. This cliff top beach resort is where to head for an outdoor party, it boasts the glamour of a Pacha resort, stunning sunset views of Ibiza Town and a trendy spot to listen to the likes of Solomun, Guy Gerber and Luciano. Dreamy!
DC-10. No clubbing venture to Ibiza is complete without a good rave at DC-10. Favourite among my pals is Monday night at CircoLoco, making a brilliant end to a long weekend away.
Spa Time. If you are on the island to relax or, as I can thoroughly recommend, recuperating for a couple of nights after partying. Hotel Hacienda in the north is set upon a striking cliff and is home to 'the best spa on the island' with a series of hot pools called the cascades to enjoy. Due to its position these post stunning views of the sea and cliff below.
B London Boutique. A Travel Twins favourite - The most badass inspirational Instagram feed, but also a boutique with brilliant beachwear and more. On my last trip I was even lucky enough to bump into one of the founders at Experimental (See Eat). She made our night!
Keep active. For those fitness fans or for anyone wanting to keep active on a trip away, 36 Degrees North offer luxury fitness, health and wellbeing retreats. Ranging from juice detox plans to personal training, cycling tours, yoga and beach fit. An idyllic spot near Santa Eulalia, they have a bunch of brilliant friendly trainers that will push you hard!
Ibiza Old Town, a beautiful scenic walk to enjoy this UNESCO World Heritage site and take in the breath-taking surrounding views of endless sea.
The harbour at Santa Eulalia is great for a wonder round and a fantastic spot to see the sun set. There are many restaurants serving delicious fish dishes that overlook the boats and offering goblets of gin. A little expensive but worth it for a treat!
Just relax or rave hard and enjoy! Ibiza is what you make of it the ultimate luxury getaway, fitness fest or the most legendary place to party. Or a mix of it all. X
